West Village Energy Data Collection

As one of the initiatives of the West Village Eco-D, we are aiming to find ways in reducing energy consumption and ultimately reducing the neighborhoods carbon footprint. This is an effort that we have been collaborating on for some time and are excited to launch today. As a way to start testing and moving forward, we are looking for volunteers to participate in our survey described below. If you would not like to participate in the survey or are unable to, we are looking for individuals to assist in the data process and collection.

Eco-D Presents at 2017 Building Michigan Communities Conference

Over two dozen attendees joined the conversation about sustainable neighborhoods. Eco-D and partners presented "Eco-D: Establishing EcoDistricts in Detroit" as part of the Vibrant Communities Track of BMCC in Lansing. The panel was Allison Harris (EcoWorks), Khalil Ligon (Vista Vantage), Judith Williams (Focus: HOPE and the HOPE Village Initiative), and Vassilis Jacobs (West Village).
Three Architecture Students are Turning an Abandoned Home into an Energy-Efficient Model for the Community

Eco-D and Hope Village welcome Motown Movement and their work to the neighborhood... Students from the Netherlands are on a mission to fight climate change, and they plan to do so by rehabbing a blighted, vacant home in the heart of the city.

Winners Announced for Ford's Community-based Go Detroit Challenge Showcase Mobility Solutions for the City

More than 1,000 challenge participants generated more than 160 ideas to address people’s transportation-related needs in Detroit. Social entrepreneur finalists, CARAVAN , takes second place. CARAVAN partnered with HOPE Village to study transportation and equity. CARAVAN and Eco-D convened EcoDistrict stakeholders to discuss mobility in the city.

A First Look at the Garland Building Redevelopment in West Village

Exciting things are happening! A development is happening in West Village bringing retail space along Kercheval just east of Van Dyke. West Village will have a new pedestrian friendly green alley running between Van Dyke and Parker immediately behind the development.
