The Southwest Detroit Eco - D is a 1.55 square mile geographical area located between Michigan Avenue, Livernois Avenue, Scotten Street, and Fort Street and home to approximately 11,616 persons. While Southwest Detroit faces it’s challenges, is no stranger to environmental and public health issues, it’s among the most vibrant and densely populated areas of the city of Detroit.

Southwest Detroit has gathered support from both residents, businesses and community partners for several environmental efforts in the neighborhood. Their vision is a robust and thriving Southwest Detroit that showcases the harmony between people and place; a community that nurtures all life, including water, land, air, people, and nature. 

Through inclusion and collaboration, Southwest Eco-D core partners drive sustainable solutions that have tangible and measurable impacts for all of the Southwest Detroit community. The coalition is made up of a variety of core partners, including: AGI Construction, Bridging Communities, Clark Park Coalition, Detroit Cristo Rey High School, EcoWorks, Great Lakes Bioneers Detroit, Holy Redeemer Grade School, Ideal Group, Pizza Plex, Southwest Detroit Environmental Vision, and Urban Neighborhoods.
